Business Development — Growth Consultant / Sales Partner(Freelance / Contractor)
📍 Location: Wong Chuk Hang, with flexibility to work from home when necessary

About Us
Planty Lab is a boutique digital marketing agency based in Hong Kong. We help local SMEs and e-commerce brands grow through Meta Ads, business strategy, offer development, and performance marketing systems.
We are looking for a Business Development Partner who can help us identify opportunities, build relationships, speak with business owners, and close new client deals.
This is not a traditional hard-selling role. We are looking for someone who can act more like a growth consultant — someone who understands business pain points, asks the right questions, and helps potential clients see how Planty Lab can support their next stage of growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Opportunity Finding & Networking
- Proactively identify potential SME, e-commerce, and local business clients
- Attend networking events, community events, business gatherings, and online/offline opportunities
- Build relationships with founders, business owners, marketers, and decision-makers
- Create new sales opportunities through referrals, warm outreach, partnerships, and community connections
- Represent Planty Lab professionally in business conversations
2. Consultative Sales
- Speak with potential clients to understand their business model, marketing challenges, and growth goals
- Identify whether the client is a good fit for Planty Lab’s Meta Ads and growth marketing services
- Explain our services in a business-focused and practical way
- Help clients understand their current bottlenecks, such as offer, funnel, ads, creative, conversion, or retention issues
- Position Planty Lab as a growth partner, not just an ads vendor
3. Closing Deals
- Follow up with qualified leads and move conversations toward sales calls, proposals, and closing
- Support or lead sales conversations depending on client quality and deal size
- Handle objections professionally and help clients make confident decisions
- Coordinate with the internal team on proposal direction, pricing, and scope when needed
- Close new client contracts and ensure a smooth handover to the account team
4. Relationship & Pipeline Management
- Maintain a clear pipeline of prospects, follow-ups, and opportunities
- Keep track of conversations, client needs, next steps, and deal status
- Nurture long-term relationships even if the client is not ready to buy immediately
- Look for partnership opportunities that can bring consistent referrals or leads
Requirements
- Experience in sales, business development, client servicing, marketing, consulting, or entrepreneurship is preferred
- Comfortable speaking with business owners and decision-makers
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Able to understand business problems and connect them with marketing solutions
- Willing to network, reach out, follow up, and create opportunities actively
- Responsible, proactive, and able to work independently as a freelance / contractor partner
- Fluent in Cantonese; English is a strong advantage
- Understanding of digital marketing, Meta Ads, e-commerce, lead generation, or SME business growth is a plus
Ideal Candidate
You are not just someone who wants to “sell marketing services”. You are someone who enjoys understanding businesses and helping owners find better ways to grow.
You should be comfortable asking questions like:
- What is the client trying to achieve?
- What is stopping their business from growing?
- Is their problem traffic, offer, conversion, creative, or sales follow-up?
- Are they ready for paid ads, or do they need to fix their foundation first?
- How can Planty Lab help them grow in a practical and measurable way?
We are looking for someone who can combine networking, business thinking, consultative selling, and deal closing.
